– Open Workshop Exporter –
With Workshop Exporter you can transform your 3D model into the House Flipper item and later import it as mod to Steam Workshop. Once you download and follow the instructions in the previous article on how to add the tool to your Unity, you can run it as a project there.
1.) Click the Exporter in the Unity Hub. You should be greeted by a welcome pop-up:
Great! It means all the set-up was successful!
2.) Now, all you have to do is open the Item Exporter window, where you upload all the information needed to transform your model into the mod. Use the Open Item Exporter Window button at the bottom of the welcome window
Alternatively, on the Unity ribbon navigate to House Flipper and then Export Custom Item.
3.) Following the first or the second method, you should now see the House Flipper Item Exporter window like below:
4.) For your convenience, we recommend embedding the window on the right side of the project.
– Import your 3D model to Unity –
With the Item Exporter window open and the project running in Unity, it’s time to import your 3D model. If your item is too small or too large it is the best time to change its scale!
1.) Select Assets from the ribbon and then Import New Asset…
2.) Find your model (remember to keep the file in .obj or .fbx format!) and select it.
– Create a mod –
That’s it! Your model is now running in our tool. Now the fun part begins, making it recognizable by our game. The next step is to create a new item in the Steam Workshop.
