Don’t worry. If you don’t see your recent progress in House Flipper or the game is not loading your profile, it doesn’t mean the files are completely gone. Most likely there was some disruption when your game tried to save the progress during your last playthrough. Here you can learn how to get your saves back from the back-up folder and run them again in the original save location.
We’ve prepared two instructions, depending on the operating system you use:
For consoles - We do not store player saves, the only way to reload progress or profile is to download them from the Playstation+ or Xbox cloud.
Windows
1.) Make sure House Flipper is closed.
2.) Find a Profiles folder.
This folder stores your current save files. To find it just paste the path shown below into the location bar in the File Explorer program or Windows tab like below:
| %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Empyrean\House Flipper Game\ |
3.) Find a Profiles.backup folder. It will be in the same folder as previous Profiles, most likely right below it.
There your backed-up save files are stored. The game makes a safe copy of your main save file every time you play House Flipper for more than 30 minutes. It means you’re about to restore your progress at maximum this timeframe. Important! The game stores only 5 latest backups for each profile.
4.) Open the Profiles.backup folder and find the Profile folder you are interested in.
The modification date will tell you when the last backup happened.
If you have more than one profile, all Profile folders will have the same modification date. To define which one has the most recent progress you’ve made in the game, you need to open each one and check the modification dates of the files in it. See the screenshot below:
Again, you will find 5 Backup folders because your game stores up to 5 recent backups. The one with the most recent modification date is the one with the most recent backup. Note that the Backup folders’ names always match their modification date.
5.) Open the folder you’re interested in and copy ALL the files you see inside.
6.) Go back to the Profiles folder in the main game location, then to the Profile folder you lost your progress on (Remember to use the profile with the same number as the profile in the backup folder).
7.) Delete all the files inside and paste the copied files from the Backup folder there.
Here's an example:
You lost your progress on Profile 1. You go to the Profiles.backup folder, open Profile 1, and then the latest backup folder there is. You mark all the files inside and copy them. You return to the Profiles folder and find the profile folder you lost your progress on - in this example, it’s Profile 1. You delete all the files in Profile 1 folder and paste there all the files you’ve just copied.
8.) Launch House Flipper and check if everything works correctly.
❌ If it doesn’t work or the backup folder is either EMPTY or not available… ❌
- Make sure that you performed all the steps correctly!
- Try to use a backup folder from a Documents location. To do so use the Windows search tab like before, but this time use path C:\Users\<your username here>\Documents\House Flipper\Profiles.backup with your Windows username in the respective place.
- After that follow the instructions, starting from point 3.
macOS
1.) Make sure that House Flipper is closed.
2.) Find a Profiles folder.
This folder stores your current save files. To find it just paste the path shown below into the “Go to folder” window:
~/Library/Application Support/Empyrean/House Flipper Game
3.) Find a Profiles.backup folder. It will be in the same folder as previous Profiles, most likely right below it.

❗❗ If you cannot find the Profiles.backup folder in the directory shown above, try
~/Library/Application Support/unity.Empyrean.Unity-HouseFlipper
4.) Open the Profiles.backup folder and find the Profile folder you are interested in.
