Hi there!
We've encountered some problems with the current location of your game save files.
In order to fix it, we had to move your save files to the new location.
The old location was My Documents:
%userprofile%\Documents
The new location is in AppData:
%appdata%\..\LocalLow\Frozen District\House Flipper 2
You can find both folders easily, just hit the Windows key and R and paste the address in the Run box.
For most players, the files are moved automatically 😇
But if this website shows up, it means your game crashed. Not to worry though! You can move the saves yourself.
For Steamdeck player saves are located:
/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1190970/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Frozen District/House Flipper 2
How to move the save files manually:
- Start the game (if you haven't already). This will create a new folder in the new location in AppData.
- Quit the game.
- Go to My Documents and copy the content of the House Flipper 2 folder.
- Go to %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Frozen District\House Flipper 2
- Paste the content of the House Flipper 2 folder from My Documents into %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Frozen District\House Flipper 2
- Your file structure should now look like this:
- Delete the House Flipper 2 folder in My Documents (or save it as a backup somewhere else).
- Restart the game.
Important!
If the game still creates files in the My Documents folder, crashes, or takes a long time to load, you will need to finish the file migration manually. Just create a text file named "status" in the new location folder, like in the screenshot below. You can also download the file from here and move it.
Tips & answers
"My game still crashes! 😢"

"There's no House Flipper 2 folder in My Documents! 😱"
Sometimes your computer's security applications might redirect your saves to a different location “C:\House Flipper 2”.
If that happens, also move the whole folder to %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Frozen District
"Why are you moving the save location at all?! 😲"
Well, until 12th February 2024 House Flipper 2 stored your saves in the My Documents folder and some programs didn't like that. These programs include:
- Antivirus Programs: can block modifications to save files located in My Documents.
- Dropbox/OneDrive: may try to synchronize save files with the cloud as the game attempts to modify them, which can prevent saving.
Windows Defender: might redirect file saves to a different location without informing the game, potentially causing a loss of access to previously saved files.
